In four short years Inler has gone from being a virtual unknown to an international regular and much sought-after midfield star.
His Turkish origins saw him handed a trial with Fenerbahce at the start of the 2004/05 season, but then coach Christoph Daum deemed him not good enough to represent the champions of the time.
He returned to his homeland and signed for FC Aarau, and impressed enough over an 18-month spell to secure a move to FC Zurich.
He helped his new club to back-to-back league titles in 2006 and 2007 and attracted interest from a host of Europe's top clubs.
He eventually moved to Serie A side Udinese and has quickly established as a regular in Italy.
So impressive has he been during his short time at Stadio Friuli that Internazionale are believed to be planning a summer swoop for his services.
However, they could face stiff competition for his signature should he continue to shine during Euro 2008.
He has been a virtual ever present for Switzerland since making is debut against Venezuela in September 2006 and looks set to play a major role for the host nation during this summer's tournament.
