A speedy and skilful winger, Jarolim established himself as a useful addition to the Czech squad in the second half of the qualifying campaign.
He netted his first international goal in the 7-0 win over San Marino, and was part of the squad at the last World Cup.
His selection for that squad at Jiri Jarosik's expense raised eyebrows at the time, and Jarolim's contribution was restricted to one substitute appearance against Italy.
Jarolim has played most of his club football after joining Bayern Munich while still a teenager.
He played only one game in three years with the Munich giants before re-establishing his career at first Nurnberg and, in recent years, Hamburg where he has become a key member of the first-team squad over the last five years.
Jarolim's father, Karel, is the coach of Slavia Prague.
