Veteran holding midfielder Galasek brings plenty of experience to the Czech squad, winning over 60 caps since his debut back in 1995.
Galasek was forced to wait after those initial appearances, and it was not until the qualifying campaign for Korea/Japan 2002 that he made the breakthrough to key player.
The Czechs may not have reached the World Cup that year but starring as their anchorman, Galasak was instrumental in their incredible Euro 2004 run where they reached the semi-finals only to be dumped out by Greece.
He played in the victory over USA and the defeat to Ghana in the World Cup two years later.
Now 35 years old, Galasek continues to impress in the centre of midfield, playing in nine of the Czechs' qualifiers for Austria and Switzerland.
After making over 150 appearances for Ajax, Galasek move to Nurnberg in 2006.
