Leitgeb is the sort of player who makes what can be a complicated game look simple.
So comfortable on the ball, he can be deployed either centrally or on the left of midfield, where he can use his deceptive pace and excellent passing ability to carve open defences.
Also blessed with a good shot and a creative force from set-pieces, the 23-year-old appears to glide around the field and will have to be one of Austria's key men if they are to confound expectations and progress past their group.
Having begun his career at Sturm Graz, Leitgeb moved to their domestic rivals Red Bull Salzburg last summer for in excess of 1.5million euros (no small amount in the Austrian Bundesliga).
His international debut came against Croatia in June 2006 and he has gone on to become an integral part of Josef Hickersberger's plans.
