Squillaci is one of a number of Lyon players who have been named in France's squad for this summer's tournament.
The centre-half began his career at Toulon and earned a move to Monaco in 1998. However he was quickly sent out on loan by manager Claude Puel to Ligue 2 side AJ Ajaccio.
It wasn't until Didier Deschamps took over at the principality outfit that Squillaci got his chance to shine in the first-team. Once established in Monaco's first XI, the defender was a key part of the side that were losing finalists in the 2004 Champions League.
Squillaci moved from Monaco to Lyon after Deschamps had left the Stade Louis II in 2005 and his new club have won the Ligue 1 title in each of the last two seasons.
At international level, however, Squillaci has failed to break into France's first choice central-defensive partnership and it looks like he will be warming the bench in Austria and Switzerland.
