One of European football's future kings, this could be the tournament that Karim Benzema announces his arrival as a superstar.
The Lyon striker has enjoyed a spectacular season in France and was rightly named as the Ligue 1 player of the year to recognise his role in helping Les Gones to their seventh league title in a row.
As a result of his impressive displays Barcelona and Manchester United are among the European heavyweights to have been linked with a move for Benzema. Although it looks like he will be staying France for at least one more season.
Benzema has also impressed in his fledgling international career to date. He scored twice in France's 6-0 victory over the Faroe Islands in their qualifying campaign for this tournament and he has been a key figure in every France youth team he has played for.
Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka appear to be ahead of Benzema in Les Bleus' pecking order for a starting spot. However with both players struggling to impress in club football this season we could be seeing a lot of the Lyon forward in Austria and Switzerland.
