Quagliarella is another who has won his first international call-up under coach Roberto Donadoni, only making his debut as a substitute in March 2007 against Scotland.
It didn't take the Udinese striker long to make his mark on the international scene either as he bagged a double on his first start against Lithuania, before netting against Portugal in a 3-1 friendly win.
Although he was contracted to Torino until 2005, the 25-year-old played only five times for the club and had loan spells at Fiorentia Viola (now Fiorentina) and Chieti, before moving to Udinese.
Even then, spells at Ascoli and Sampdoria followed after they agreed deals to co-own him with Udinese.
It wasn't until his spell at Sampdoria where he scored 13 goals in Serie A that he began to show his true talents and Udinese eventually managed to take full ownership of the player last summer following a blind auction between them and Samp.
Quagliarella continued his fine form and helped the club to a respectable seventh in Italy's top flight with his 12 goals, meaning he comes into Euro 2008 full of confidence.
