Klaas Jan Huntelaar is the new big hope of Dutch football and he is currently one of the most sought after strikers in Europe.
The 24-year-old is currently with Ajax but they look to have a huge task on their hands to keep hold of him with Real Madrid and Manchester United reportedly leading the chase to bag his signature.
Hunterlaar, known as The Hunter by Dutch fans, began his career with De Graafschap but was snapped up by PSV Eindhoven as a 17-year-old.
He failed to make the expected impact at PSV and had subsequent loans at AGOVV and back at De Graafschap before he was snapped up by Heerenveen.
Whilst with the Frisian club he shone, scoring 34 goals in one-and-a-half seasons before Ajax paid 9 million euros to secure his signature in January 2006.
He settled in immediately at the Amsterdam Arena with 16 goals in 16 games and he has now become their prized asset.
Huntelaar, who shone for the Dutch Under-21 side and is their highest scorer of all-time, was handed his debut in 2006 and he shone with two goals on his first appearance for Marco van Basten's men - the first player to score on his Oranje debut since 1978.
He has since only secured seven caps mainly due to the presence of the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robin van Persie and Dirk Kuyt but he has now battled his way back into the reckoning although any impact at Euro 2008 is likely to come from the bench.
He featured just four times in the qualifiers - scoring once.
