Christian Wilhelmsson is one of Sweden's unsung heroes after bursting onto the scene before Euro 2004.
The flying winger has been an instrumental member of the squad, representing his country at Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup.
Wilhelmsson made his name playing for Stabaek in his homeland after beginning his career at lowly Swedish side Mjallby.
Stabaek were forced to cash in on their prized asset due to their financial troubles and Anderlecht won the race for his signature in 2003 where he is a great favourite with their fans.
Since leaving Anderlecht he has become something of a nomad having spells at four clubs over the last two years.
After less than a year at French side Nantes, Wilhelmsson joined Italian giants Roma on loan for six months.
However, the Italian side decided not to make his move permanent and in the summer of 2007 he joined Bolton on loan.
Wilhelmsson failed to impress Bolton boss Gary Megson and he was then shipped out on loan to Deportivo La Coruna.
The winger impressed during his time at Depor and the club are expected to make his move permanent this summer.
Wilhelmsson possess lightening pace and his speedy and trickery have caused a number of defences major problems.
He predominantly plays on the left-hand side of midfield and will be hoping to provide good service for Sweden's attack in Austria and Switzerland.
